Monday News!

Hello everyone!

It's been a while right? So let's get down to business. I hope you've all been well, merry and are by now most definitely getting into the Christmas spirit! In my family house we've got our lights, tree and decorations up and it looks great. 9 days to go!

So it's finals, exams, coursework and assignment deadlines for every student worldwide right now and it is stressful as hell, but it's lovely to be able to have a break and sit back and just write to you guys! So in my last post I did say I was going to be doing Wreck This Journal, well if I'm honest I've lost the book and I feel 100% stupid and silly about it! Sorry everyone if you was looking forward to it, but when I do find it I'll do a picture post of some things that I've done in it for you all.

I did mention on my twitter that I was going to be changing up my blog a bit and not just stick to beauty, mainly because I'm out and about travelling a lot more, I'm on a tight budget, and I just wanted a wider range of topics to cover and pretty much write what I want to write rather than being tied down to one genre. So I hope that's okay with everyone and doesn't bother you too much, any problems do not hesitate to drop a comment below.

So what have I been doing? I celebrated my 18th birthday back in October, I’ve been getting on with a lot of coursework, snuggling on the sofa next to the open fire with a nice hot drink, painting my nails and being a right old girl haha!

As it’s now December and we’re getting nearer to Christmas and New Year, my new year’s resolution is to get back into blogging and buy a decent camera so I can document my life pretty much and share it with you all!

I’m currently writing this blog post in a free at college and I’ve now got a lesson in about 5 minutes, so I’m going to leave it here guys with a cute picture of Christmassy pug for you all to enjoy on this dull Monday!

Have a good week everyone!

Wreck This Journal!

After pestering my mother for a while now to put this into her WHSmiths shopping basket she finally caved in and brought me Wreck This Journal by Kerri Smith.
I'm not sure if you've all heard about WTJ so I'll give you a little insight. It's basically a book that tells you to do something different on everything single page and there are no limitations, it's your journal you wreck it how you like; and I must say it is a fantastic stress reliever!
Even though I've had this book for a good few weeks now, I have been so busy with college work that it fell into the box of things to do another time, but as I'm ill today I was having a clear out and i stumbled across my journal, so I thought what better way to destroy this journal than to share it with everyone on my blog too!
So the main reason for today's post is that I am here to welcome you on my Wreck This Journal journey ! I'll be posting posts once a week of what I've done, and maybe I'll even start my YouTube channel so you can see little videos of me wrecking this journal!
Wreck This Journal retails at £8.99 at most book stores, but online shops such as Amazon and Ebay you can find them for cheaper than £8.99
I hope you are all well, leave a comment if you have a WTJ and/or any tips for me :)!

Garnier Skin Naturals Eye Roll-On

Garnier Skin Naturals - Caffeine Eye Roll On
Hello there everyone! Wow, it’s been a while right? My summer this year has been a crazy one, and it’s nearing 2am but I have a little review for you all; which I hope you enjoy!

So, during my hectic summer and the bipolar British weather we've been having, I haven’t been getting enough sleep as I should be, (4 hours just isn't enough!) so with the current stress and all things crazy in my life right now, it’s left my face looking a bit under the weather unfortunately. I finally thought, enough is enough I need to sort this out so I popped down to Superdrug after work and picked up this little gem which has been an absolute god send!

This product is by Garnier, and is called the Garnier Skin Naturals - Caffeine Eye Roll On; for bags and dark circles underneath your eyes. Now, as most of you will know, not getting enough sleep leaves you with eyes that look like you've been in a bit of a punch up! I’ll be honest, I was a bit indecisive about buying this product at first as I've heard from other bloggers and friends that after a few weeks of use it can change the pigment of your skin underneath your eyes, and it won’t match your natural skin colour, so this did worry me; but you never know unless you try and boy I am so glad I did!

I apply the roll on twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening after my normal skincare routine and it fits in perfectly! It took me around a week and a bit (roughly) to begin to see a change, and after two weeks my eyes looked less tired and my dark circles were easing off and were beginning to be less noticeable; also I had no trouble with the pigmentation of the skin changing either!  I use this product on a daily basis now just because I’d be lost without it! I don’t tend to use concealer much, but working this product with concealer during the day works really well!

This little gem was only £5.99 from my local drug store (Superdrug) and I'm really happy with it! I shall definitely be buying this again once my little tube has run out.
If anyone of you out there are having the trouble of dark circles and bags then this product is most definitely for you!

Have you ever used this product or any similar ones? I’d love to know, so leave me a comment below J

What's On My Desk!

It's finally summer time which means there's no school or college and you can just relax knowing that you don't have to endure any boring lessons or teachers whining on! It also means I will be able to update a lot more!
To me, one of the major points about being organised is keeping your desk up to date and tidy so you know what's what and where everything is. So that is why today's' post is about what's on my desk! I must say I did have to have a cheeky little tidy up before hand as it was a bit messy, but none the less here's my desk!
This is my not so tidy desk (I tried to clean it!) The desk itself is very old and if I'm honest I cannot remember where it's from so I apologise, but I've definitely had my share of time with it as it is currently ready for to fall apart at any moment, but we'll skip past that bit and hope that it stays up! My desk is just a simple sandy coloured desk which has 3 draws and 3 shelves and enough room on it (just about!) for all of my stuff.

I don't think there's been a day since I was 15 that my phone hasn't been glued next to me 24/7, so I always have my phone next to me on my desk. My phone is the Samsung Galaxy S2 in white and it's a pretty nifty phone if I do say so myself, it works and has internet; all I ever need!

As many of you know I love One Direction, so in case my iTunes plays up and doesn't work I always have my favourite 3 CD's on standby to throw into my DVD Player to listen too! If you don't have these albums I recommend you to go and buy them on Amazon here!

Next up is a cute little magazine/book rack which I picked up from Tesco last September ready for the beginning of my A-Levels. It has a beautiful design of typical British things (Queen's crown, Big Ben, St Paul's Cathedral etc) and I think that's what drew me into to wanting to buy it. It sits tucked away on my desk full of prospectus's I probably won't need (I'm stuck thinking whether or not to go to university ). It is really handy to have and it was also quite cheap too being under £5; which I think is a bargain!

Next up are 3 boxes which are full of my Jewellery making bits! In my spare time or when I'm having a down day I like to sit, chill out and make small bits of jewellery as I find it really therapeutic! Everything you can see here in this photo - down to the money rubber, was all from The Range. Now, I know the UK and Ireland have the shop called The Range, but I'm not sure about other countries, but you can pick up similar items like these at your local craft or stationary store.

Here you can see a few of my notebooks. Now, I have an obsession with notebooks so if any of you know of any cute shops that sell notebooks please let me know in the comments! These specific notebooks are from all different shops, some are from Paperchase, some are from The Range and I think the striped one was a gift. Notebooks are always good to have on your desk to jot things down or even just to doodle in!

As you can see this is my iPad 2. I got this for Christmas back in 2011 and it's been my best friend ever since! I apologise for how dirty the screen is and the reflection of my wallpaper in the screen, but anyway carrying on! This little beauty has been with me everywhere, to London, Somerset, Bristol, Ireland, and many more places! I think iPads are great so big up Apple here, well done for creating a product that I can't live without!

And finally here is my very ancient and old laptop that somehow still works after 7 years! This laptop is an Advent and if I'm honest it does it's job perfectly. Every desk needs a computer and if you're a busy bee like me you're going to understand! I am looking into upgrading to a Macbook hopefully sometime after my birthday in October, but for now my laptop works and that's all that counts.

So there you have it everyone, that was my post on What's On My Desk! If you want to know more about anything that mentioned do not hesitate to ask in the comments or send me an email at cheshirelaneblogger@gmail.com !

Thanks for reading everyone! Do you have any key products or stationary that you like to keep on your desk? Let me know in the comments below!

Rimmel London, Salon Pro with Lycra

First of all an apology is in order as I have not blogged in something silly like over a month, and I am really sorry everyone! To top it all off too my camera is still broken so I'm having to use online images so I also apologise for that matter!

Now, back to what this post is all about the Rimmel London Salon Pro with Lycra in 500, Peppermint. I was at the post office the other afternoon and I couldn't help but have a nosey in Superdrug to see if I could find a pretty little nail varnish to treat myself too! As a lot of you know I would have headed straight the the Barry M stand and I would have been sorted, but that didn't happen the other day and i thought it's time to suck it up and try a different brand (which was very hard for me, seeing as I love Barry M). The Rimmel Stand didn't have many colours left but luckily for me minty blues and greens are pretty much some of my favourite colours, so I couldn't resist and bought it!

What drew me to buying this product was the fantastic brush it comes with, it's not a bog standard straight thin brush which are difficult to use, it has more of a plump, thicker and rounded at the tip brush and it works a dream! The brush covered my thumb nail in a lovely coat just after two swatches due to the thickness of the brush, and I can definitely tell that this is a brand that I will be using in the future as the final outcome was brilliant and left me with a lovely shiny coat on my nails.

The price of this polish was absolutely brilliant at £2.99 from my local Superdrug store and I was really pleased with that price as it was most definitely affordable!

Now, this is a little taste of what the collection looks like and the 500 Peppermint is on the far left, but it looks a bit green in this image, but it is a lot more blue in stores than green.

Thank you for reading everyone and apologies again for not being on and the internet images etc!

What's your favourite colour from the collection?

Hawaiian Tropic

So this time last year it was absolutely beautiful weather so whilst packing for my two-day trip to Somerset I was looking around for some sun creams with a low SPF. After going on many websites nothing caught my eye until I came upon Hawaiian Tropic.

I bought my sun cream in SPF 15, as I don’t really burn in the sun unless it’s a heat wave somewhere abroad so I ordered Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration. Now, if you go on their website this year they only have it in a mist spray whereas I brought the actual cream, it was in a small travel size bottle and was only around £5 so not expensive at all!

The cream itself is lovely and creamy but not too thick to the point where you have it literally rub it in countlessly. It applies smoothly and easily and does its job brilliantly! (I didn't burn!)

I’d definitely recommend Hawaiian Tropic to anyone! They have creams, mists and lip balms in any SPF that you could imagine! Overall their products are fantastic and most definitely in anyone’s price range!

So, will you be buying Hawaiian Tropic this summer? Leave your thoughts below.

*Sorry I have no image of this cream at the moment, this is due to my camera breaking and I’m waiting to have it repaired. Apologies

Barry M, Set of 4 Travel Brushes - Review

Whilst out shopping not too long ago up in Ipswich town I took it upon myself to buy myself a new set of brushes because my old ones had pretty much their day. I had heard a lot of bloggers raving about the Barry M Travel Brush Set so I thought I might as well buy it for myself and see what all the hype is about!

The set consists of 4 brushes, a powder/blusher brush, an eye shadow brush, a lip brush; a lash comb brush and they all come in a handy mock-croc case that is perfect handbag size!

The brushes themselves are fantastic; they’re all smooth and easy to use and are not rough at all like some other brushes I’ve used in the past. I haven’t used the lip brush yet, but the texture of the brush is so smooth it is a great buy, and so is the rest of the set!

I would definitely buy the bigger set of brushes when I have the money as Barry M have such a wide range of brushes out at the moment that are all great quality.

This set retails at £9.99 for the 4 brushes and the mock-croc case. You can buy them from your local stores such as Superdrug and Boots.

What brushes do you use and do you think they are worth the money you pay?
Let me know what you think!

* I am currently using a photo off of the Superdrug website as my camera is in repair, so all rights reserved are to Superdrug.

Eleanor Calder Style - Bubbleology

As we all know Eleanor Calder, girlfriend of the One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, is a very beautiful young woman and her fashion and style are inspiring young teenage girls all over the world! So here I have a picture of Eleanor that she posted on Instagram earlier this year with a friend at Bubbleology in Notting Hill, London. Eleanor here looked as beautiful as always and it is a very simple outfit that you, yourselves could get your hands on!
Her jeans are identical to Moto Black Skinny Leigh Jeans from Topshop at the cost of £38.00
Her jumper is a Knitted Fluffy Stitch Jumper from Topshop at the cost of £42.00
Her shoes are Aftershock Cutout Lace-up Boots at the cost of $170.00, but they are from the USA’s Topshop and unfortunately are not available in the UK. But there is a pair in the UK’s Topshop that are of a similar style, just with a few buckles instead of laces. These boots are called Aubrey Open Side Chunky Boots and they cost £75.00
I find Eleanor’s style and fashion very unique and I have myself purchased some of the lookalike clothing! If you would like me to find out where any of Eleanor’s clothing is from don’t be afraid to ask!
Do you like Eleanor’s style?

Maybelline New York, FIT ME!

So, after finally rummaging through my lovely pile of post that my mother had forgotten to tell me about I came across this free sample.
This sample is from Maybelline New York’s FIT Me! range. It is a small 10ml bottle and is the colour Natural Beige, 220.
For my skin colour I would usually use a ‘vanilla’ colour as I have quite pale skin. Although after trying this product, it is one that I will definitely now be using.
Natural Beige is one of the most commonly used foundation colours and I can definitely see why. It sits on the skin perfectly after application and does for the whole day, unlike other brands which can unfortunately make your skin look oily. Maybelline have most definitely taken thought when creating this product.
It gave my skin a natural glow and I was also complimented many times on ‘how well my skin looks’. It does not give you ‘tide lines’ as some people would say and all in all it is a very good product.
Maybelline retail this product at £7.99 which is a very reasonable price for the brand name and product itself. It is available from your local stores such as Boots and Superdrug.
What foundation do you all use and is it worth the price that they retail it at?
Leaves your thoughts below
